I'm honored that you've asked me to serve on the board of Walk Against Want. Unfortunately, I'm simply overcommitted this year. I'm sorry I misled you during our lunch last week. I greatly respect the work Walk Against Want does with the homeless. But I took a good look at my calendar, and decided that it simply wouldn't be fair to take on anything else.
I will be going off the Board of Deacons next year, and that will provide me with a block of time for other volunteer activities. I hope you'll think of me again.
